Chapter 15
----------------------------------
Rise
Jace stared at the man shocked into a stasis. The group of soldiers suddenly grabbed him and started pulling him out of the courthouse. He struggled in their grasp yelling and cursing but a platoon of guards weren't an easy bunch to beat. They pulled him out the doors and into the streets. Amira and Arcanus stared on at the event in horror and shock.
"What is the meaning of this? Laith is a friend of Jace's! He would never kill him! We met with him in Sinaria and we left him in good health! Anything that happened to him after we left was not our faults!"Yelled Arcanus growing into a rage. Amira hadn't been there with them so she stayed silent.
"We received a letter signed by Laith Underwood only a day ago. In it he said he had been attacked and left to die by Jace DarkSlash with just enough time to write a letter and send it off to us. He knew you were coming here and warned us. His body was found the same day the letter reached us."Replied the man obviously tired. Amira grabbed Arcanus by the arm and tryed to get him out of the courthouse. If they stayed and argued they would no doubt be in jail with Jace.
"It's no use arguing. It's not going to get Jace out of the dungeon. There's nothing we can do and you know that. Jace is smart he can figure something out."She whispered to him. Arcanus eventually stopped resisting. Both of them walked out of the courthouse and into the streets.
"But what are we going to do without Jace?"Said Arcanus spirits depleted. Amira smiled.
"We prepare. We train. The war is near."She said trying to cheer him up.
"Fine. There's a nearby cave we can train in. I need to brush up on my magic anyway."He mumbled.
"That's the spirit."She replied cheerfully. Arcanus began to walk towards the outskirts of town with Amira in tow. Within two hours they reached the cave. It's depths were illuminated by the day's light. Every rock and crack was shown in amazing detail. Arcanus smiled. That was about to change.  Arcanus drew targets on the wall with a flame spell and spent the day aiming lightning bolts and fireballs at it. Amira took out her two trusty knives and practiced her battle maneuvers and poison technique. By the time she was done she had two flasks of poison and two very sharp knives with an even sharper knowledge of how to use them.

Jace was wrestled into a large stone building. It was weathering away with age and the stone was colored with the weight of time. After much struggling and grunting they managed to get Jace into his cell. Jace stared back at them with cold hard eyes. The steel gate slammed with an echoing roar throughout the dungeon. Jace remained there staring out the gate thinking. Contemplating. Slowly night fell on the horrific dungeon. Moaning's and screams could be heard all throughout the building as various prisoners felt the pain of abandonment and went mad with shame at their crimes. However Jace had done no crime. What he was going mad with was the crime of another. Someone had killed Laith. His only friend for most of his life. The one who brought him into an honest life. Who gave him what he needed to come to peace. His eyes roared with the growing fire of his anger. That anger turned to determination. Few words echoed in his mind as the full of night hit.
"Rise, I will rise," A ripping sound snapped through the dungeon. Jace's eyes closed.
"I will rise," Dark shadows gathered behind Jace. He remained unmoving and cold. Suddenly the cell's temperature skyrocketed. It was instantly boiling. The rocks in the dungeon began to slowly melt with the intense heat. The light of a fire lit up the cell filling it with dark light. Orange, yellow and red patters lit the walls. Jace inhaled in one big gasp. His eyes remained close.
"One day I will get revenge."His eyes opened. Those dark eyes had been replaced by a sphere of flame. Actual flame. It burned within him and shone in his eyes. The ripping sound could be heard once again, This time more intensely. The shadow's behind him rose up like dark angels as the objects making them rose in their demonic glory. Wings. Red dragon-like wings with jutting bones and terrible features stuck out from his back. Jace look up at the ceiling. In one breath he let out a tower of flame destroying the brick above him. A gigantic flap sounded and Jace was up flying in the cold night air. His eyes still were globes of flame. This was Jace DarkSlash. A True Son of Fire.

New Chapter!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 16
----------------------------------
One of Darkness.One of Light.
The sun rose over the magnificent city. It's light illuminated the glass towers in outstanding detail. Arcanus stirred. The stiff haze that took hold of his body was ripped apart as his eyes opened. His vision was even slightly hazy but what grinned back at him was horrifically recognizable. Jace's unmatched malice shone on his face. Arcanus was lying on the floor with Jace standing above him.
"JACE!!!"Burst Arcanus in outstanding joy. He jumped up and was questioning at Jace within seconds.
"How did you get out of there?"He asked flabbergasted."And..and..gah.ga..WINGS!"Choked out an amazed Arcanus. Jace laughed deeply. His wings were only red when they just emerged due to being under intense heat. Now they had cooled and were a deep abyssal black.
"That dark night in the dungeon. It pushed me beyond my limits. I explored places I should never be.I thought being Draconic would make me stronger. Then I realized Humanity is what made me complete. Humanity is creativeness. Ingenuity. To invent and push boundaries is The Human way. That is why we were the only Perfect Creation. Dragon's are power. Brute force and magic manifested. Only they were born with compassion and not hate like the rest. We are both. We were given tremendous power and the ingenuity to use it!"Said Jace slowly and meaningfully stretching every syllable to emphasize the importance. Understanding shone in his eyes. He seem more happy than he ever had been before. He had gained something he had searched for his whole life. Peace.
"Jace. I am glad you have learned so much. But are you not sad about Laith?"Asked Arcanus blown away by Jace's story. A look of intentness that had been reserved only for the hardest spell learning was on his face the entire story. Jace's smiling features grew just a fraction of an inch less joyful. He chuckled and a look of contemplation crossed his face. He began to think of Laith again.
"Laith has moved on. He lived his life in the best way. I could never be more sure he will find a Heaven where he is comfortable. Stealing bread buns from the old ladies,Raising horses and irritating guards."Said Jace soberly thinking about the times he spent with Laith. He shook it off.

"But first it is time you understood. It is time you understood what it means to be Draconic."He said with that same malicious grin that told you he was plotting behind his kind eyes. He grabbed Arcanus's shoulders with both hands. Arcanus froze and his eyes went foggy. He looked up toward the ceiling and began to shake slightly. He seemed to be in some sort of trance. a strange electricity arced from Jace's fingers into Arcanus's shoulders. He start to shake more violently. Suddenly Arcanus stopped. A quiet sizzling could be heard. Amira emerged out of the darkness in the cave. She had been listening in the darkness unnoticed.Oddly suspicious. What reason would she have to hide? She slowly came out into the light and saw Arcanus and Jace. The sizzling grew louder until it was all that could be hear.It transformed into a roaring flame. It stuck inside your head like a never-ending crashing of waves. It filled your head with a strange deafening madness. Suddenly it stopped. Then in a glorious crash of burning embers wings broke out of Arcanus's back. Jace let go of his iron grip and Arcanus slowly looked at him. He smiled. A million things raced through his mind at a lightning pace. His mind was accommodating for all the extra knowledge it could hold and was forced to receive. His mind was learning to deal with how fast it was able to run now. The magnificent red wings began to cool off quickly. Slowly but surely they began to show their real color. They were pure white wings that shone in radiant beauty with his white robes. Jace's black combat suit and shining daggers set off his dark wings very nicely as well. Amira sneered.

"I see you've embraced your scaly side. Well how is that going to help us? We're in a war. Unless those fancy wings can take down an army of Archon's your not helping anyone."She replied snidely. Arcanus's mind was filled with all the knowledge they needed. The only thing either of them was confused to was why Amira was acting so oddly. Jace answered Amira politely.
"In fact we are much more powerful now then before. It took all the Dragon's in the world to defeat and trap The Archon's. We however are much more powerful than that. Separately of course. But together we know what we have to do. We have the knowledge of ages. We know what we must do."Said Jace. Arcanus nodded mirroring his certainty. Imagine having your entire knowledge uprooted and then have it rebuilt except with knowledge of the past and future for ages to come all inside your mind. That's how much knowledge they gained. Amira snarled to herself.
"Well then prepare warriors. The war is near. The Archon's are rising. And it definitely won't be pretty."She mumbled. Jace and Arcanus looked at each other and smiled.
"We'll be ready."They replied in unison.

Chapter 17
----------------------------------
The Bane of Humanity
The ground was still but somehow still felt ill at ease. The valley shook ever so slightly but continuously gained momentum until it was a roaring shake. The mountains sides rose and fell in deep ragged earthen breaths. Something strange was happening in Coatlicue's Pass. Suddenly the roaring shake was overtaken by a gigantic hissing sound. Something about the sound told you it was rising from under the ground. Then all the shaking drew to a abrupt crescendo and exploded. horrifically. The entire valley was uprooted and the miles of ground were thrown into the sky in a plume of trembling air and clouding dust. The mountains directly open to the explosion were thrown to the wind and cut into terrible ragged pieces cascading down the valley. A titanic cloud of smoke obscured the entire valley and hid the center of the explosion. The intense clogging dirt plume slowly loosened itself becoming lighter and lighter and revealing more and more of the devastated valley. When the entire ravaged valley revealed itself it was not a pretty sight. A ginormous crater of dark burned earth spanned the entire distance of Coatlicue's pass. In the center of this doomed landscape stood a towering titan. A tearing roar ripped from the mouth of a murderously large snake-like creature. It had the body of a snake covered with spines and dotted with separate snakes snapping off it. Instead of a tail it stood on two bony supported legs and lizard-like feet. As arms it carried two scaly arms leaking a sinuous green liquid from under every scale.

The Leader had risen. Coatlicue was alive. Within the hour she slithered to Danu Talis to find her army of Archons waiting for her. They were dwarfed in her massive size. They were huge but she was far greater in size. She was their Mother. The worst and most powerful of The Archons. The Eleven Archons bowed and groveled before her. Each one carrying a a title for their horrific specialty's. Cernnunos, The God of The Hunt. Coatlicue, The Mortis Incarnate.Vultan, The Flame Eater. All names reflecting their horribility in the ways they killed their prey. The invincible Archon's. The Bane of Humanity. Danu Talis quivered as their civilians held their families close while watching the Archons gather just a few leagues form the city. The armies congregated at the gates. Slowly they swung open revealing the might of our Human Army to The Archon Legion. Let the war begin.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 18
----------------------------------
The Final-ish Battle
Mankind had never been more foolhardy or more brave as their armies sprinted into battle like ants before The Archons. All the while roaring in the midst of insanity that was war. One human cry is quiet but thousands is earth-shaking. The Archons smiled viciously as they wailed their war cry. The screams of war blended into a harmonious song of savagery. A song of war. It told the tale of bravery and of murderous tyranny that ensued on the battlefield stamping terror and hope into the minds of every citizen of Danu Talis. The Archons laughed as scores of The Human Army were demolished by their swinging blades the size of a mountain. Their poison waves spilling off them in rivulets battered the oncoming army. Fire ate away at the Army as it was spiraled into the ranks like a rocket. Searing infernos raged. Earth gave way deafening the soldiers in such a way their minds nearly gave way at the sheer pressure of silence. The Human Army was failing. it was already split in half and no Archon's had been defeated. A heart breaking realization hit the minds and souls of the Human warriors. it was their time to die. With one push they all fell back in a tsunami of human bodies. They pushed back to the Gates as The Archons stood in satisfaction a league away. An ancient part of the Human Mind was opened to the people who saw The Archons advance on their glorious city. Slowly they remembered what their ancestors felt. What it was like to be hunted and slaughtered. To be decimated hundreds at a time. To be Human.

A song sweet and clear **** upon the ears of The Archons halting their approach. A song that told of hope and happiness. A song of peace through war. A Dragon Song. It rang across the field and the city of which it resided in front of.The Archons wailed in sorrow and horror. Their Minds were once again opened to their pain. Their time to be hunted. The ancient battle for The Island City flashed before their eyes. They remembered Dragons. A wall of fire erupted in front of the aligned Archon Legion. Two Shadows leaped from The Heavens above and descended to the ground. They were completely covered with Shadows and were only  black figures in flame. Clouds gathered above overcasting the event. As they descended The clouds above them began to circle and erupt with thunder. The clouds branched from this swirling mass. Lightning crackled and raged around them as they reached eye height of The Archons. They roared in anger as lightning and fire struck and rose around them like Angels of Retribution. Their wings flapped and gave rise to tornadoes of wind that forced back The Archons screaming with rage. Their hands raised and storms of flame followed them blasting at the Archons in the midst of a storm brewing overhead striking lightning down on them. One bye one The Archons fell to the ground screeching in defeat until only only Coatlicue remained before these seemingly Divine Punishers. They mirrored each other in every move they made to control they elements with which they fought. They raised their hands to the sky and made a fist. As soon as their hands closed the Earth underneath Coatlicue erupted in spirals of impaling Earth that dug into her. Her screams rose and fell like the cry of a fallen bird.

"Rise."A voice deep and commanding rose from both of the figures in unison. The Archons stood with faces torn with horror.  They uttered one single word that brought back all the memories The Archon Race had blocked from themselves. They remembered their creation. They remembered these beings. The one word was simple yet so meaningful.
"Return" The Archons were mystified as they gave their answer in unison.
"Yes Sons."And with that the two shadowy figures began to work. They drew a spire of rock from the Earth with a great heaving sigh from the ground.
"Earth,"
A plume of flame raged into existence alongside it.
"Fire,"
A column of water sloshed out of thin air beside the two.
"Water,"
A spiral of raging winds appeared from the clouds and descended next to the other three.
"Air,"
Slowly they all moved over close together until the were completely one. A flash of light burst from their depths and it was invisible for just a moment.
"Time."
A portal emerged from this mixture of power and essence. A portal through time. The Archons moved into this portal as if in a trance. the figures watched as they marched dematerlized into the portal until The last Archon took its last look upon our modern Earth.

A cheer rose up from the city of Danu Talis like never before. Triumph and relief rose to the winds. They carried hope and happiness to The Heavens. This was a day which all of human-kind would remember. More than the fear of the hunt. More than the memories of slaughter. The Gods breathed in this cry of freedom and were appeased. All had been set right. But there was still work left to do. A battle left to be waged. The two figures were consumed in an eruption of light that gave the emanated a sound similar to a volcano. In a instant they disappeared. The City of Danu Talis rose once again in a cheer. This was Humanity. A small creation. But the most powerful creation. Why? Perhaps you shall see. In time...
